Here’s to growing

As I sit at my desk and stare at this blank screen, I can’t help but think how different I am now than I was a year ago. My priorities have shifted, which will happen in a global pandemic. I have a better understanding of what matters most and I feel more comfortable and confident in who I am.

It has been one year and six months since I last wrote a post for this blog, and I really didn’t expect that I would be back to sharing my thoughts on here. To be completely honest, I thought I grew out of blogging, and it was hard for me to get back into it. I convinced myself that with the rise in popularity of vlogging and Instagram influencers, no one would want to sit down at a computer and actually read someone’s thoughts.

I was wrong.

My last post was July 3, 2019, but last week I had 517 views on my blog, which is more than 70 views a day (!!!) with no new content. That totally debunked my theory. So, I’m coming at this with a new point of view.

In the last few years, I really got in my head when it came to writing. I tried to plan what and when I was going to write for my blog, and it became more of a chore than an outlet for my thoughts and feelings. I think that came across in my writing.

I’m going back to my old ways, and this post is to show that transition. I’m going back to writing what I think and feel, because that’s what resonated the most with people, and at the end of the day that’s exactly what I want. I started this blog to provide a positive impact on people. That’s all that matters to me.

So, stay tuned for some of my most current thoughts, hopes, dreams, accomplishments, struggles, and whatever else happens as time passes. And if there’s anything you would like me to talk about, just let me know in the comments, anonymously through my contact page, or on any of my social media accounts. I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love.

With love,
Julia
